Our Lady's Christian School

Mentor Program

The mentor program helps new families acclimate to the OLC community and become involved in school activities. It matches families who are new to OLC with existing families who have children close to same age. Families meet at a picnic before the start of school and throughout the year the mentor family will answer any questions (“What’s the Christmas Fair about? Where’s a good place to buy uniforms?) and provide a familiar face at school functions.

Below are some comments from new families who have had a mentor family. Feel free to contact Debbie Montefiori with any questions.

It was great for my daughters to get to know some new friends, but it was also nice for my husband and me to be able to recognize a face in the parking lot after school or in church on Sunday.

My experience with the family mentoring program was very positive. It was nice to have an OLC family to turn to with questions and concerns.

We were impressed with and helped by the Mentor Family Program and also the welcoming we received from all the families at OLC.
- Mark and Irene Franz

One of the best things about the school is the friendship extended to new families. Our son made friends quickly (with our mentors), and so did we.

Our mentor family took us in like an old true friend. I can always count on a call when something is going on at school, or count on them to be there when I need assistance.
