Help restore EITC funding!
More than 100 students in our school receive tuition aid from the STAR Foundation, which is funded by the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Funding for this vital program was cut in the last state budget, and now lawmakers are considering slashing the program by an additional $10 million in next year's budget.
As Catholic school parents, teachers and supporters, we need to make our voices heard in Harrisburg! Please take a minute to let your state legislator know that EITC funding is vital to our school and to hundreds of other Catholic schools across the state. Please log on to Operation Restore and contact your legislator to push for more EITC funding. You can also get the latest Operation Restore and EITC funding news.
An initiative the REACH Alliance, Operation Restore is a campaign to restore the funding for the EITC Program to $75 million—the level at which it was funded in fiscal year 2007-08. Education tax credits are targeted for budget cuts even though basic education funding is being increased by $354 million.
The goal for this campaign is to demonstrate overwhelming parent, school, business and community support for funding restoration for the EITC program. We can't do it without the help of those affected by the EITC program, especially scholarship families and EITC businesses.
