New for Fall 2010: Half-day Pre-K!
To help meet a growing demand for Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) classes for 4- and 5-year-olds, Our Lady’s Christian School will offer a half-day Pre-K class beginning in the Fall of 2010.
The new class will meet Mondays through Fridays from 12:15 to 3 p.m. and will be located in our preschool classroom in Saint Jude Church.
The curriculum will focus on preparing students for success in kindergarten and beyond. Teachers will use lots of hands-on activities to foster preschoolers’ academic, social, spiritual and emotional growth. They’ll learn in a structured (but fun!) setting from certified, veteran teachers with assistance from experienced aides. We expect a teacher-to-student ratio of one-to-nine or fewer. We will continue to offer half-day 4-year-old preschool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, and students in that class have the option of staying for afternoon classes each day (MWF), or just on Wednesday afternoons.
Tuition will be set later this spring, but parents can expect it to be in line with our current half-day rates.
To accommodate the new schedule, OLC will no longer offer half-day afternoon classes for 3-year-olds. We will continue to offer morning classes for 3-year-olds on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we’ll also continue our current full-day PreK class which is offered Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m..
