Warm response to OLC collection effort
The OLC Student Council sponsored a collection in January to benefit The Warming Center, an outreach effort of the Mental Health Association that provides refuge of last resort on sub-freezing nights. St. Jude parishioner Mary Cardot sent the following note to thank the school community for the generous response:
Dear Mrs. Landenberger, Ms. Cairns, Student Council Members and OLCS Students and Faculty,
bq. Today I made our final delivery to the Warming Center at Mental Health ofNWPa. Except for a few items which came in late from the parish collection, it was all donations from OLC. After sorting, bagging and labeling, we delivered 17 large bags of clothing, blankets, towels, etc. 3 large boxes of personal care items and 3 large bags of warm drinks, snacks, etc.! With the help of OLCS, we delivered a total of 90 large bags and 27 large boxes of items! All of these items will be used for a very needy part of our community – most of them homeless. The director and the staff of the agency were overwhelmed with the generosity of the St. Jude/ OLCS families and could not thank us enough.
Thank you so much for your donations and hard work – and for all of your help in loading my van on Monday!
”What so ever you do for the least of my brothers….”
bq. Thank you for everything.
With my gratitude,
bq. Mary Cardot
