    The 41 OLC seventh- and eighth graders competing in this year's regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition earned 23 first awards and 18 second awards. All 23 first award winners also received special awards for excellence in their field, and three students achieved perfect scores.

    Students and their families, along with faculty and staff, contributed more than 400 items and $300 in cash to the Kids' Cafe December 13. The donated items were placed in a "Christmas store" at the Cafe where needy children could shop for their family members.
