School Closing/Delay Procedures
Our Lady's Christian School follows the closing/delay schedule of the Millcreek Township School District.
Local television stations will announce the closing or delay of schools during the 6 a.m. news. Radio stations will also announce delays and closings.
If radio and television reports that Millcreek schools are closed, then OLC is closed. The same is true of 2-hour delays. There will not be an additional announcement for Catholic elementary schools.
Our Lady's Christian School will send a Parent Broadcast to all families in the event school is closed or delayed.
School closings or delays will be determined at 5:00 a.m. by a group of Millcreek public school administrators. Generally, schools close only in the event of a declared city-wide emergency or if prevailing weather conditions are considered so severe as to place children en route to school in a clearly dangerous or unhealthy situation. These conditions include:
* impassable streets and/or sidewalks
* extremely cold temperatures and/or gale-like winds.
