Our Lady's Christian School

Admission Requirements

Three-year-olds must be 3, and 4-year-olds must be 4 by September 1st. Children must be able to use the restroom independently.

Application for admission of new students will take place each year beginning in January.

Regarding admission, Our Lady’s Christian School will not discriminate based on sex, race, religion, national origin, age, physical handicap or disability.

As a ministry of Saint Jude, Saint Julia and Saint Andrew parishes, Our Lady’s Christian School exists to pass on our Catholic faith to future generations. We are blessed with the spiritual and administrative leadership of our pastors, and the prayerful support of all parishioners. In addition to providing time and talent, the three parishes also share their treasure by subsidizing a significant portion of the school’s operating budget.

When admitting new students to Our Lady’s Christian School, priority is given to applicants in the following order:

1. Current students and their siblings*;
2. Children of active parishioners** of Saint Jude, Saint Julia and Saint Andrew parishes;
3. Children of parishioners of other Catholic churches;
4. Children of other faiths.

If there are more applicants than spaces for a given class, spaces will be allocated according to the priority above and the date when the completed registration is submitted.

We welcome families of all faiths to become a part of the OLCS community. All students in the school are expected to participate in religion class and attend all religious activities with their classes.

* Current school families must register new students by March 1 to receive priority placement.

** Active membership is defined as those who attend Mass, contribute a minimum of $6 a week to St. Jude and St. Julia parish, $10 a week to St. Andrew parish and become involved in some aspect of parish and/or school life. Families unable to meet this commitment due to financial hardship are encouraged to contact the Pastor, who will make the final determination of parishioner or non-parishioner status. If there are more registrants than openings, those with the most senior membership in the parishes will be admitted in the order of seniority.

All new applicants will move through the application process consisting of:

  • School Visit
  • Conference with the Principal
  • Completed Diocese of Erie registration packet
  • Transfer Slip and transcript of records
  • Copy of Report Card
  • Proof of Parent Custody (Where applicable: copy of divorce decree or court ordered separation agreement)

If you have any questions or would like to request a registration packet, please call the school office at 814/838-7676.
